Sharon Sassone

It would probably be quicker to ask Sharon Sassone - AKA ShaSha - what roles she hasn't performed in her forty-plus years in theatre. She has worked as a playwright, director, dramaturg, coach, actor and producer in Chicago and, more recently, Portland, Oregon. In Chicago, she was the founder of A Stage of One's Own Theatre Company, serving as its artistic director for ten years. She was also a founding resident playwright with the Chicago Dramatists Workshop, and she earned a Master of Arts with Distinction in Performing Arts and Women's Studies from the University of Illinois - Chicago. After traveling the world performing in her award-winning play about Virginia Woolf, A Room of One's Own, ShaSha moved to Portland to be near her family. She is an original member of the Bluestockings Theatre Company and founder of the Portland Dramatists Workshop.
